Default engine

just got a 97 with a gone head, the bottom end is still good...Found somebody who just rebuilt there 99 head, still 2.0 but turbo, the engine in the car is not turbo, if i put that head on the bottom end will it effect anything...

yea, like it won't work, get a matching head (the 95-99 eclpse non turbo engine code is called a 420a and the turbo'd engine code is the 4g63) also if you plan on doing any engine work to the block (like boring it out for a turbo) this would be a good time to do it b/c the head is already off.

IN A 2G. You must have not been thinking when you made this remark. They only did the 4g63 n/t in the 1g's

correct. you really need to tell us what you want to do with the car before we can give you and real advice. if you just want a pretty eclipse to drive around and don't car about power, get another 420a head and put it on there. if you are looking for some power out of it i suggest boring out the block while the head is off, throw some forged mechanics in there then put a head on... or for that matter, if you have the money you could do some headwork on the new head while you have it off the block. like i said, it's all a matter of preference and what your plans are

But the spyders did have the 2.4L 4G64 motor which is similar even though you still cant swap the heads. Just get the head rebuilt that you have, what is wrong with it anyways
