my car is a 96 rs with a 2.0 i did a spark plug test to check if i had rod knock did not stop.my car is making a weird sound is there a possiblity that it still might have rod knock. sound wont stop even on startup even on warm up any ideas?

 

make a video of it and post here. Is it a constant knocking that accels on a rev? could be a spun bearing

 

its obviously not just lifter tick right?

 

could be but lifter tick gets bad while oil pressure is low then comes the bearing noise which at that point the sound is un bearable. Lifter tiick alot of people dont even notice but bearing it one of those ouch sounds almost like death whine. you hear it and know it is a bad thing

 

is there a way to find out if its a spun bearing?

 

rip it apart
