Unlucky dude lemmie tell you that. Well i can safely say that i dont think your engine is going to die at all. I think you will be jsut fine replacing the headgasket.

Although im not sure what all that heat did to the internals. IE main bearings etc. So in actual fact it might be cheaper int he long run to get that 6 bolt. We kinda have to look into the future with this a little. If the 7 bolt is going to throw out a major problem after the head gasket is changed... then.... this is going to be pointless. In my opinion thats quite possible if the temps you are saying are true. Was the warning heat light on?

exactly. The car has 136,000 miles on it, most of which are probably hard miles. So im thinking, why bother doing the head gasket on a beat up, 11yr old 7bolt when im just gonna get a 6bolt within a year anyway? yea id love to have it running right now but i know once i start to tear into the head gasket job im gonna find something else thats wrong. The warning light wasnt on but still, the car should never get that hot.

What i say is dont junk the motor.

I say when you remove it to put the 6 bolt in... change the headgasket cuz its soo easy with the engine out. THen you sell the motor and pocket some of the profit from it.

i dont think its gonna be a head gasket becuase maybe you just have a leak in the coolant lines and the oil lines somehow, its unlikely but possible. Because you would definetly see alot of smoke and white crap on the cams if it was the headgasket.

ok i went out and ran it for a sec. And if you stand in front of the car and look at the engine, the corner of the block/ head on the left closest to you. just to the left of the exhaust manifold, started oozing oil.

yea those are my thoughts. Cracked block is 80% my guess cuz there is no coolant or cloudy exhaust
