Toaster power, i'm fairly sure that without a shop and a good welder, you can't swap in a 3000gt motor(also the displacement is 2997cc's or 3.0l). Go and put your car side by side next to a 3000gt and you'll see the 3si is much wider. The tranny is different(you are talking about the twin turbo, right?) ad therefore the axles willbe different. None of your current wiring or ecu will work, you'll have to switch to a 3si ecu and custom wiring or do stand-alone, which may be cheaper. You'll also need a custom exhaust manifold and intake manifold. So here's a break down: Cut and re-weld the chasis to widen it. Replace entire front suspension with 3si. replace ecu and wiring. custom fab manifolds and other piping(waterlines and pipes along with rad). But nate, if he get's a bad motor then yeah compression would be bad. But to install and everything, no need to worry about compression.

The 4g63 motor is a proven high performance motor and it would be ALOT cheaper to upgrade the stock motor over dropping in a 3000GT motor. The swap is not worth it at all.
