deff a good idea the 4g63 has more potential then the 420a, plus awd is better for racing and building up. Instead of worring about HG's and lean conditions you get to worry about crank walk and transfer cases.. i cant wait to get a 6 bolt.

Well the car isn't working right now and If I can't swap the engine whats the point in wasting more money. Should I just get another 420A and sell the car, and then buy a gst, or gsx.
well no you could build a fairly fast car out of the 420A if it needs a motor just rebuild your motor with internals to hanlde boost and buy a turbo kit and youll be making a good amount of power. I mean with that at 10 PSI you might get near or over 300WHP and on FWD that is not to bad good for 12\13s
I'm looking to make 300 horses with my Gs-T. Would i need to get a new turbo kit for that cause i hear teh T25 turbo isn't the best. or could i keep the turbo i've got. What other mods would i need?

you will need at least a 16g upgrade and all other supporting mods (injectors, pump, intake ,exhaust, Boost controller, SAFCII at least)

I would say if you want to go cheap get a 14b, but if you dont mind spending a little cash get a evoIII16g. That will support 350hp so that will give you a little room to play. Remember though theirs more to a setup than just a turbo, your going to need a full exaust, an external wg or a 02 dump, ported manifold, intake, mbc, injectors, safc or dsmlink...or a dsmchip(if you have an eprompt ecu), fuel pump, fmic, bov, and eventually a new clutch. Their may be other stuff that i am missing but i need to get ready for work.... 3" gm mas, translator, plugs/wires, boost gauge, and at least a egt gauge.

This is what i'm going to try and do, try to sell the car, or just get a gsx from a dealer and trade the 420a in. And then start from scratch and build the GSX. Is that a good Idea, cuz I really want a AWD car.
yea i would suggest as slow420a did, get the 1g (90-92) and you'll have a much better engine to work with, for half the money of a 2g unless you just really like the look of the 2g, then just do what your into

Wow I would love to do that plus everything that Slow420a said, but i don't have the time nor money to put into my car at the moment. How many horses can i get out of the stock turbo w/o having to change a lot? I've got exhaust, BOV, and minor stuff. I know the car has 210 stock, but i wouldn't mind getting as much as i can safely on the engine/turbo set up i've got right now.

I can see i might need a boost controller. boost guage, FMIC, etc.

And i've always been meaning to ask, What is the SAFCII that i always hear you talk about?[&:]

I'm really into the 2G but can you tell me what is the main difference in the 1g and 2g, All i've heard is the 6 and 7 bolt. What does that do to improve your engine.

7 bolts were in 93-99 eclipses. it has a known defect with oiling causes the crank to walk and that means the motor is trashed. Up on top we have a thread pinned called alternate swaps for the 2G GST GSX read throught that and there is a good like that eplains it in detail.

the 6Bolt didnt have that problem so 2G guys swap the 6bolt in which was from the 90-92 GSt GSXs

The safcII is a super air fuel controler...2 lol. It hooks up to your mas air flow sensor and lets you modify the signal that it puts out letting you control the air to fuel ratio. If you dont know what your doing you can really hurt your car. Also its a basic piggy back unit and dosent work well for high hp applications. I have heard of and seen cars lean out just idaling in a parking lot. because they were using huge injectors and only using the safc to control them.

The SAFCII is very very easy to use though a small amount of research and it is simple stuff to use
