Default Engine swap-Need advice!

Hey! I have a '97 Eclipse GST front wheel drive that is in need of an engine swap. My car died on me on the way to work this week, (A bad way to start the morning!) and found out that I have a head gasket leak. THe car has 193,000 miles so the engine is seeing the end of its life. I have a few options for an engine swap that I wanted to ask for advice on which would be the best route to take. (I know some about cars, but this is a big decision to make on my own with the little knowledge that I have).

The garage found me 2 engines. One such as the one that I have in my car now, and a JDM Cyclone. The JDM is 1500 and comes with a turbo and a transmission. (But since my car isn't all wheel drive, it'll be pretty much useless to me). The other engine is $2000 that comes with a turbo. They both will come from a junkyard and the JDM only has a 30 day warrenty, where as the other has a 6 month warrenty...I believe. They both has roughly the same amount of mileage on them...about 50,000.

Another option is to buy a new engine from Auto Zone for about $2500, but doesn't come with a turbo or a valve cover, or some other parts salvage engines will come with that I think I might need. (I hope I'm being clear!) The garage that will work on my car is going to charge me $450 for the engine swap, which I was told is really good. I plan on keeping my current engine and rebuilding it anyways, but just simply do not have time right now.

I really like my car, and want to keep it. I'm trying to decide how much money I should take a loan out for to get my car fixed.

Also, the JDM motor will take about a week to get here since it's coming from Japan. I'm worried that if a part breaks on it, then the parts availablility will not be there as much as it were to get the other engine that's in the States.

I appreciate any help that you are willing to give.

i would not trust the "JDM" engine. I would just go with the other one because of the longer warranty and IMO more reliability.
