I am looking at a 99 eclipse GSX 5 speed that has no engine or transmission and I was wondering what would be a good engine to put into it. It doesn't have to be an eclipse engine or even a mitsubishi engine I am looking for something different that would give me an edge in shows and things of that sort. Any feedback would be appreciated.

 

Really the only other engine that you would want to put in there is the engine from the first gen eclipse's. Mainly try and get one from 1991 fi possible. They are also known as the 6-bolt, as opposed to the 2g 7-bolt. That will give you a much better performance and reliable engine. Other than that i dont know of any other types of swaps

 

built 4g64 motor with an 4g63 head swapped onto it.

 

What about a 3000gt engine would that fit in the engine bay?
