Default EPROM ECU Swap.

I have a 97 GST. What all do I need to do to swap in a 95 EPROM ECU? Or should I be able to unplug my old one and plug in a the EPROM. Problem is I tried that and it did not work, the car would not start witht the EPROM, but started right back up when I put the orig. ECU back in. Is there a step I am missing or is the ECU shot? I am using it to run DSMLink.

i would think that it should just swap in fine. I could be just a bad ecu. But you must know also that even with the ecu you still need to have it socketed so that the dsmlink chip can be used.

When removing the ECU make sure that you are grounded. Any sort of spark from static electricity can ruin them. It is possible that that is what happened to the EPROM

I found the problem. teh 95-96 firing order is different than 97-99. I had to switch the plug wires. The ECU is already socketed for DSMLink.
