Default EVO 7 pistons

Would the EVO 7 (85mm) pistons fit in the eclipse 4g63(85mm)???
And if they would what would be the advantages. The EVO 7 pistons are suposed to be already forged.
Hope some of u could give me ur opinion.

As long as the diameter is the same they will fit. The only advantages would be if they are lighter really.

They will fit with some machine work and some custom rods. The pistons will change your compresstion ratio, to what I am not sure, not a good idea for a turbo charged car to cahnge commpression ratio to much. Why would you want to upgrade to a EVO piston anyways?

Well from what I've heared from the evo 5+ pistons come reinforced from Mitsubishi, and they are made to be oil cooled (that i'm not sure if it's the JUN pistons or evo). DSMs pistons are 85 mm...evos are 85...shouldnt need much work.
I dont think compression would change that much but the pistons would just hold more boost.

I would consult a machine shop on that one before I did anything I don't think it's cut and dry as it seems. Plus that would be and expensive *** mistake!

The guy who told me about that is a rally driver and mechanic (expert in evo5+)...he never had the chance to worked on the DSM 4g63 but from what he knows if the pistons are same size it shouldnt be much trouble.
