is it possible to drop in a evo8 engine into a gsx????

 

no its not possible, the timing belt is on the opposite side, and you dont want to anyway its the same engine with higher compression pistons and better head. For the price of swapping an engine you can make a gsx much faster than an evo.

 

you could do it it would just require moving of some motor mounts. if the timing belt is on the otherside i would say you would have to place the mounts like a 420a motor. but i do agree that if you were to pull your motor and dump the money you would pay for the other into yours it would be brand new and the internals would be awesome. that is what i would do is rebuilt the motor you have make it better than the motor you are going to buy for about the same price maby a little less money

 

it will not work. the engine layout is opposite. you could swap with an earlier model evo like an evo3 but u will never find one. build your motor to be faster

i was wondering the same thing too, but then i have a 99 gs-t and i was thinking of dropping a evo8 engine in mine but then i don't even know where to get one too... i supposed i should just leave it stock because my bro said that it's also a evo engine already so then i suggested that it be up to u if u do really want to swap it.
