free upgrades? maybe?
it depends a lot on what is done to the mustang also, when i had mine, after some head work and a new header back exahust i could smoke a mildly modded gst all day long....... and of course the driver is a factor............
I've beaten a stock 99 v6 mustang in my stock 97 non-turbo eclipse. And my spyder has done enough damage to the mustang community around my area
, so you're GST should be pounding on those GT's by now. Anyways, a mildly modded GST(1g or 2g) can break the 13 second barrier fairly easily. They can post some high 13's, but i don't think i've ever heard of one posting anything lower than a 13.5 with having to do a basic upgrade(exhaust, intake, stuff like the BPU). By mildly modded i mean things you can remove on the car to help it breathe better/easier(maf honeycomb, dumptube, stuff like we've just said on here). There's a writeup in the Vfaqs about free mods, check it out.

Having a transverse engine/transmission layout means that almost all the power made is getting to the ground. So 210hp in a fwd car can really do some damage against 210hp in a rwd or awd car. Also, 4g63's have a very robust torque curve, regardless of what turbo they're running(14b or t25). The 1g's will run close to 13.5 with BPU mods, which is very good considering an STI is a 2.5l engine with a larger turbo. If you check out the 1/4mile registry at some of the old DSM sites, you'll see close to 40% of the members run below 13 seconds. While some are wildly modified, you'll be surprised at how few mods others have. That's why the DSM crowd was always so proud of their cars, it only took a little to get a lot. But yeah....those transmissions were heartbreakers....

Really? I wouldn't have expected that fast. 13.5 is around what a stock STI runs from what I've seen and those def have more hp then ours do. I'm also up here in NH and even in the summer there's much better conditions other places in the country. I did see a 2g GSX run an 11 flat a summer or two ago, it was hot. Nothing flashy, engine looked almost stock, just had a huge turbo and the guy could drive, everyone cheered when he put down a viper.

Just remember that the proper wheel and suspension setup will yield better times than just uping the boost on the FWD stock T-25.
Hack the dump tube and pull that tiny little BCS ring. Grab an autometer and put it were you want first. You car will feel different once you install a real Bypass Valve and the intercooler pipes. The L pipe has a wooping clearance of 1.25" in one spot.
As for an intake. I made 311whp with the stock accordian. You will get a nicer sound from a $100 intake piece (dejontool recommended over Injen) but power will be like MAYBE 5hp that is not even at the wheels. So do as you wish on that subject.
Under your MAS is a plastic piece that has a hose going in and coming out. That is the BCS.
Once you get a MBC or EBC it becomes USELESS. Since you are looking to get an MBC just leave it alone for now. Once you get the MBC let us know and we can run you through the setup. You will then know what the BCS is.
BUT...............
If you want to take a look. It is about the lenght of your pinky and probly as wide. Running North to South on the inside wheel well under the MAS. The lower hose gets disconnected. There is a VERY small piece of plastic that is in the shape of a ring. What I did was use a woodscrew and push it in thumb tight (do not split the out plastic unless you have a MBC coming the next day making in NULL and VOID). Once in twist it 1 full rotation and start pulling it out. A LITTLE TINY plastic ring will come out.
WAAAAA LAAAAA. You have just gained a POSSIBLE 1-3psi. LOL.

I know this is old but how much boost is the stock ic good for? Also is there anything I can go to make it more efficent. I am also in the market for a upgraded sidemount. got any websites I can get them from?
