FuelFilter - location pissing me off
The fuel filter is mounted in the line between the fuel tank and the fuel rail in the engine compartment.Disconnect the banjo bolt at the lower end of the filter, remove the clamp bolt and detachthe filter from the bracket. The filter is under the battery only on the turbo models.I hope this helps.
nope, because as my signature says, I have an RS, which is non-turbo. I also said I've looked under the battery and it's not there. I ALSO have said that I already FOUND it near the rear passenger tire. Please read before you post. Thank you.
I did read ALL the post before I posted otherwise I wouldn't have posted. What I posted came directly from the Haynes manual,I was just typing word for word because it tells how to get the filter off, thought I was helpin ya out.I just posted to help clear any confusion.
Remember for each extension you use you also lose torque... I dunno what to tell you about getting the rusty bolt out... Maybe use a gator grip socket? Mine seems to work pretty good (Until the bolt is out then it's all jammed inside the gator grip socket and ou can't get it out so you start beating it on things then get pissed off throw the socket across the garage and say **** it gimme a new bolt... LOL). Seriously though let the WD-40 soak into the metal for a few hours.

If the wd-40 doesn't work then get some rust eater to eat away at it. It will take a while bit the stuff does work.
I sprayed um.. umm... what's it called... I can't remember, its ina yellow can, really strong penetrating oil.. its orange and smells like gasoline... I can't remember what it's called, but it sure does smell strong. I sprayed it on their the other day, and I'll probably spray more on it today... one of these days I'll actually try to get the bolts loose again, lol.
And yeah, I don't see how you can loose torque by extending the wrench with a pipe or something.. I thought that was the purpose of extending it

Torque = Force x Lever arm (or length of arm)
yeah.. I had a pretty short wrench (dont have a pipe big enough to go over the end) and I know I had almost no power to turn that thing, lol.. it kind of sucked. I had a pipe right there, but it would slightly too small, so I was stuck with like a 5-6" wrench ..... that didn't work too good.
I just broke my bracket with my He-man strength... then I wire tied it to the frame. Get a can of PB and pray, when something is sezed some times its impossible to remove it with out resorting to a tortch, which in this case I wouldn't recomend doing that.
