Alright, i have a few questions, for one i think this is a good thing but i don't know. My 98 GST 5-speed idols at 800 rpms and i know that's good, i don't lose power when i turn the air conditioning on, and it's charged and working. two, do eclipse have a choke on them? and my check engine light is on, and it only comes on after i reset it, and when i put it in reverse and it shifts hard? could that be the problem that the CEL is on?

 

No its not causing the CEL. Go to autozone and get the code.

 

the idle thing is fine. And sebba is right, putting it in reverse shouldnt cause any cel. Id get the code and see

No, its normal. Just alittle bit of parasitic power loss. Nothing to worry about.

 

if its hard putting it into reverse try this. put it into first gear and then immediatly afterwards go to reverse.... that seems to ba common thing w/ DSMs

And about the A/C thing.... thats why i removed mine

 

ya, i gotta do that sometimes with my 3g, it'll feel like its in reverse, but ill let off the clutch and it will grind, so i gotta go to first then reverse
