The thing with the GS is its not 140whp stock like your thinking. Its 140 crank HP. which means your gonna have even less to the wheels. Somewhere around 100-110 whp. So realistically without a turbo your not getting more than 120whp

i had a gs with header back exhaust, AEM CAI, Venom 400 chip, greddy grounding kit and ported TB. w/ all of those mods w/a small vaccuum leak and leaking head gasket i put down 111whp on a mustang dyno. that converts to probably close to 120-125whp on a dynojet. so after spending about 2000 on performance mods, i polly gained 5whp.... 2k added onto the price of a GS will get you a GST or GSX, and 2k dropped into a GSt or gsx will get you damn close to a 16g install pushing you up to apx 350whp.

Alright, thanks RCJ - thats exactly what i was lookin for. Whats the difference at the wheels between a GSX and GS-T, if any. Or is the only real advantage to the GSX traction?

there is no hp difference. the only differnce is that the GSX is all wheel drive (AWD) where the GS-T is front wheel drive (FWD). from 0-60 the gsx will win b/c of the launch but form 80+ the gs-t will pull b/c of the added weight of the GSX AWD drivetrain. the advantage of GSX is that it's awd, from 0-30 usually anything over 250whp will spin but w/ AWD you need a good amount of hp to make the wheels spin.

Unlike the GST/TSi... I go through tires like a maniac... I hate that.

one more question...would turboing a 420a be comprable to 4g63? This might be an extremly stupid question but i know turboing my GS with a kit like the one on SBR (link below) would be about the same price as purchaseing a GS-T or GSX. I mean i would assume the gains in terms of whp would be much lower than with a 4g63 but what would be a rough estimate of the gains given by a turbo kit on a 420a? Again i appologize if this is a dumb question lol. Just trying to get a little bit more knowledge on the subject. Thanks guys.

You could getanywhere from 200 to350 hp out of a 420A but in the end its not worth it. I looked into it man and after all is said and done it will cost around 10k just to get 350 hp and it will not be reliable at all. Hahn makes a really good kit for it but like I said it's really expensive and unreliable to turbo that engine. I have one myself and sadly I've had to come to terms with the facts.
