hi guys,
i bought my g/f a 99 rs with about 70k miles about 8 months ago. well, the engine is going on it so my neigbor said to get a turbo engine for it and he would put it in. now i Know i should have probably came on here first but ...oops i hope i just didnt waste the money.
so anyways i ordered a JDM 4G63-GTE 1997 Talon / Eclipse, 200 hp (51000 miles). i know i need a different rear axle for the all wheel drive and anopther drive shaft but thats not a biggie. pleasae help . i guess i am just looking for reassuances AFTER THE FACT

Your car has a chrysler motor 420a. Honestly you cant realistically swap that stuff into that car. Your looking at waisteing alot of money away. and for the price it would prob be cheaper to buy a GSX instead. Not trying to burst your bubble but its true. Search around here and see how many people have acked about it. I belive it has been done twice or something like that and it requires alot of custom fab. and cutting into the firewal in the engine bay and if you cant do that stuff yourself the cost to do so it going to be more than just buying a GSX.

Yup theve basically all covered it. The real tricky part that is gonna tell you its not worth it is all the custom fabrication that it includes. You actually need the entire front clip from a 2g turbo eclipse. The you also need the mounts from the 2g turbo as well. Then both sides of the engine bay will require cutting and welding to get the engine to fit right, and the mounts to work right.
sell the car while it's still running and get as much out of it as you can, sell the engine and everything you have bought for the swap so far, with that money you could be close to mabey 5k. you can get a used GSX from 5800-10k. on auto trader there is a GSX for 5800 in GA for sale. because like everybody else has alrady said. . . the price of the swap will cost you more than the actual car. i would recomend what EMONZ has said, build the hell out of the motor you already have and drop it into a GS-T or GSX. however paintballproam has a vilid point that it IS a 7 bolt...
