Maybe I just don't get what you're saying. My car is an automatic. So unless you're talking about the transmission itself...

please, clarify your definition of "transmission" both as a process and as a noun.

then please also clarify your definition of "gear box"

okay, so, it could be said that a gearbox is a transmission, yeah?

so. back to my original statement, have you checked or had checked, the quality and amount of oil in your gear box?

Clearly, yes. If you are possibly referring to power steering or any other fluid/oil a car takes. Yes to that as well
