The etching is fairly visible. They are etched in with the use of acid, at least that's how the guys at the Mitsu car lot I used to work for did it. Usually found on the bottom of the quarter windows and the size is usually small, about a cm. If you didn't see it, it wasn't etched...unless the glass was really dirty. lol
Changing speedos to appear as if the car has lower mileage is illegal. Although there's really no "solid" proof since it can be said that they were just troubleshooting the speed, I would think that there was something fishy going on.

So they took a door from another eclipse...see if you can find your door lying around, you never know.

Were you able to find the one on the inside of the rear 1/4 panel?

Also try andcall a mitsu dealership, maybe they have a diagram of all the locations?

Also have you checked for the VIN on the engine, or was a swap on the engine done already.

I tried cheacking the rear panel but the back hatch wont open and the car is so full of spare car parts and crap and i cant really get back thereto it to take the plastic all the way off. but i did pull it backasmuch as i couldbut couldnt see anything. Where at on the engine block is the vin. its hard to see cause the car was lowerd so ill probaly need to jack it up to see it ya? I never swaped the motor but i did swap the trans and i know that had a vin.

ya i know man this is so f'ed up. Like i never had a problem with the the poice even if i was in trouble for doing someting stupidcause i just figured they are doing there job. I can respectitcant hate them for that. but when i got all this proof and they tell me nope not your car vins dont match nothing we can do! this has really made me lose a lot of respect for the cops on this one! like wtf

I wanna steal it back. and the people who own the shops around the car tell me to take it its beenabandoned and is now parked in a fire lane.but then if i ever did fix it back up id never me able to regester it back in my name with all the fraud thats been done onthe car. and that would be some crap to be aressted for stealing my own car back. Hey but then icould go to jail and get a public defender and fight it in court! lol almost worth it!

oh ya and one other thing. when i first found my car it still had my dc 4to1 headers on the car. probaly the onlything left worth money on it. when i went back the other day.....gone! Fk'ers!!!

 

honestly its not worth it to fix it up i would say you would save a crap load of money getting a new one and fixing that one up. but iwould still try to get that one back so i can say i got it back. lol.

 

that service sticker would be enough for me to be like yeha thats your car man. lol. its deff yours
