Default hey guys advice on buying an eclipse?

well its time for a new car and im looking to get one... the catch is my budget is 5 grand...

i was thinking about buying a 3kgt but just in case i dont find one within my budget i would like to know a few stuff about eclipses.

what is the difference between gs and rs

can it run up to 200k mileage like nissans?(b/c my last car was a nissan)

any known problems with the eclipses?

what kind of an eclipse should i look for within my price range including mileage wise

thanks alot

it will be hard to find a 3g for 5k or under... if you do i doubt it will be in very well running condition. You can find a 1g or 2g eclipse for that price though. The difference between an RS and GS is nothing more than a bit of body work - side skirts and very minor differences in the rear bumper. yes eclipses can take you up to 200k+ miles as long as they have been well maintained, i'm pretty sure there's somebody on this forum with over 200k... somewhere i remember seeing him.

hey how far are you from mass. I freind of mine is selling his 3KGT VR4 for 5k. It has a few minor problems but none of them are related to the engine, only the key locks and the wing i believe.but it runs great. For eclipses im sure by now there are some cheaper 3g's out there. But the only really difference between the rs and gs is the options. The GS came with more options stock (better rims, spoiler, ect.) Everything else is the same.

FOR SALE: $5,000.00 or B.O.

This is 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 Twin Turbo (selling AS IS!). It has about 105,000 miles. It's in good condition with tons of options: air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power seat, tilt wheel, cruise control, AM/FM single Alpine CD player, dual air bags, ABS, leather, rear spoiler, and moon roof!

This car is for sale well under KBB value of over $8,000.00! The owner has a work vehicle and rarely uses this car, so he would just like to get rid of it (as is). It does have some minor mechanical and blemish defects: ABS light stays on (owner talked with mechanic and it is just a sensor), the aero function does not work (this is a function that moves the spoiler up and down, so you can glide through the wind!), it also needs new rotors (the ones on it are a little rusty), and the keys don't work to open the doors and trunk, but it works fine with the ignition. There are also a couple of small dings.
