Default Rebuild? Port and Polish?

Hey guys. I was thinking and it came across my mind, since i am planning on pushing somewhere around 350 horses, and I have about 135,000 miles on my car, is it worth to keep dropping money on my car? I love my car, and I obviously want to keep it. I was thinking maybe an engine rebuild would help? What about port and polish the heads (would this even help)?

Most of you will probably say, get a 6-bolt. But besides that solution...

Already have new clutch.

To tell you the truth i have not changed the timing belt. That is definitely next though.

So should I should replace the timing belt, I should be good to go?

i wouldnt worry about a rebuild. The internals will be able to handle it. It close to the max but its still good. Just keep up on the general maintenace and you should be fine. Timing belt is definelty a good idea.

the timing belt is not just a good idea, its a must. if your gonna be spendin this money on your engine, your not gonna want the timing belt to break, thats bad

miles depend on how much car was beaten on. I really dont think youll need a rebuild. Timing belt at a dealer will cost almost $400

donig it urself isn't recomended if you don't nkow about timing. you can order parts and have a shop do it for a lot cheaper than just giving it to a shop and having them suply the parts. i bought new timing belt, idle bearings, and water pump from concept illions for 180 and paid a shop 120 for the job and saved about 100 bucks doing it that way. agreed with everybody else that the rebuild isn't mandatory, the port and polish will help you push more air through it and increase the HP but isn't mandatory
