Default Hood latch failure

Lately Ive been reading about several 2g eclipses that people have been driving on the highway and the latch would fail. The idea kinda sucks havin my hood in my windshield, and I recently found that my hood hasnt been completely closing for some reason. I picked up some hood pins but just wondering where exactly on the front bar should they be located? Someone told me to use the holes for the hood dampers but that seems kinda unwise. Could I simply go anywhere on the front bar or is there somewhere that would be best to locate them?

TE Im guessing you have an answer for me XD

you can really use any part of the front bar, but i would recommend using the hood dampener positions that are closest to the radiator. You're going to have to remove your head lights and cut off the extra portion of screw from the actual pins. They should be tight enough that you have to push you hood down a little to latch them. You don't want your hood vibrating at engine speeds

Thanks for the additional tips btw I didnt kno if it was supposed to be tight or not they dont specify in the instructions.
