I would really like to see a dyno sheet that says an intake will give a non-turbo eclipse 7-10 more horsepower, unless you are talking about at the crank, which MIGHT be believable at 7hp but I still doubt it. You won't be able to feel the difference in a cold air intake unless its REALLY bitterly cold outside. I really notice a difference in power from my intake when the temp is about 15 degrees fahrenheit here in Cincinnati, makes driving more fun!

If the intake doesn't give your car noticeable power, it will still make it sound better. They give the engine a nice throaty sound to em.
Umm 7WHP is right on target go look up dyno sheets. on a turbo car you will never notice the difference it makes no diffence at all. on an N\A there is a noticeable difference but not much. Both of my 3Gs had a cold air and I could clearly tell the difference before and after. If you want to see how much it helps just slap on the stock airbox again for a day and you will see. When I traded my spyder in I put it back to stock and the thing was ALOT worse off with out the CAI on it trust me.

and SANG that isnt always true that manuals are faster... The MKIV supras (93.5-98) the autos were actually faster than the 6spds. just no one like to have that kind of car with an auto, plus the autos are not as stong as the getrag tranny in those cars

140hp to the crank on the stock 420a,

Thank you mike for clearing the cia and tranny thing up I almost had an aneurysm lol, also the ls1's autos are faster too, with a stall the auto can pull some nasty 60's. Also an auto tranny never misses a gear. I fully believe that an auto tranny can be much faster than a stick from a dig in a drag, but from a roll or in auto cross stick regulates.

auto supra is alot cheaper than the 6spd too. Auto 93.5-96 with 100k on the motor ranges from $18k-$21K depending and that is with BPU mods and the 6pd would range from $21k-25K depending.

Same here but that is why the 6spd is more expensive because everyone who buys that car wants the 6spd plus the 6spd is invinceable they take any amount of power without a budge. That car was built nearly flawlessly from top to bottom I still think that the RX7 and late model 300GT were a few years before there time. They are cars I would expect to come out now with looks and everything

that dyno chart you showed had 5 hp/ torque... Thats really the average of hp/tq you can get from a them... When it says adds 5-10 hp, everyone assumes its gonna give them 10 hp instantly and there gonna notice a huge difference... In most cases 5 hp would be good out of them...
