awesome thanks guys. thanks for all the help. another question, if you do catch the "crank walking" before it turns into a big problem, how do you fix it?

The only way I know to fix it is a rebuild. Take it easy on the engine if you cantch it you'll need bnew bearings but you won't need to do too much more. Whereas if you keep going with crankwalk you'll likely destroy the engine.

a 6 bolt swap as far as I have heard the 7 bolt motor even if built up still holds the problem because the main problem happens to be oil pressure and it is really bad when the clutch is pressed in to the floor at idle.

i think there was a way to fix some of the problems with hyundai parts as well. Not sure exactly what they were though

hey guys,what is the spec when checking for crankwalk,what is acceptable,and what is not in terms of measuring with a gauge?

There is an actual way to check for it... but you have to have a lift and alot of tools... If you really want i can find it for you.

ok well my car is in the shop right now for a clutch and my guy knows how to check for it i just wanted to know how much play is acceptable so i can tell him that.

acceptible clearance is .002-.007", max .010"
.030" is when plate starts to rub on the sensor, and .060 is when stalling and ticking starts to occur
