How should 420a be fixed
O.k i'm sorry for buying the dumb car but I can sell it to get a new one. Anyway my eclipse has about had it, everything leaks. OMG I heard that the motor was made by Chrystler, but I don't believe it. So why should I not fix it. I know its going to be hell when I sell it and the buyer calls me back to tell me it blew up. Well it can't be bad. Here are the problems.
-Bad waterpump
-Bad rear crankshaft gasket
-Bad head gasket
-Bad vacume leak somewhere?
-Bad allignment
-Bad rear hatch shocks
That concludes that the previous owner is stupid, and I have to pay for it, or do I? Well sorry for complaining but let me know what your take on the downside to Mitsubishi.

this has to be the most confusing post i've ever read in my life... but you should have every bit of that fixed... if you wanna save money you dont technically NEED to replace the rear hatch shocks, even though they arent that expensive... other than that it all needs to be fixed... and yes, the 420a is a chrysler motor

dude wtf are you even saying??? that was the crappiest paragraph of mixxed messages put together with each other to make almost no sense ive ever seen, but if your asking weather to fix it and sell it or leave it selll it as is, id at least fix what i could do myself... except the hatch shocks, who cares about that. but if your asking "should you fix it and keep it or sell it as is" then id sell it as is because 420as are pooches

RE: How should 420a be fixed
O.k. my badlet me try again. My 96 gs eclipse needs to go, but I don't know if I should fix all the problems. In a way I do so I can see what kind of potential it has, but like you said it is not a fast car. Anyway sorry for that wack post I was just going on but not thinking about the topic. So if you read this please don't think I am stupid. Thanks for your help.

RE: How should 420a be fixed
to fix your head gasket and water pump (also suggest a timing belt, bearings and tensioner swap) you are looking at about 200 bucks if you do it yourself. the crankcase gasket is only like 20 bucks i think. and vaccuum leaks are easy enough to find with soapy water. rear hatch shocks you can find on ebay or www.mitsubishigraveyard.com call Gary. if you are having a shop do all of this work you can be looking into the 2000+ range. you will be lucky to get 3 grand with all of this fixed. i say sell it for the 1000-1500 that it's worth and go from there.
