Default Tune Shop

So someone I know told me about a tune shop near me and he said that they do some pretty amazing stuff tuning your car. They can get it to run alot better and squeez out more power, pluse they calibrate your boost and all that. What do you guys think? Do you think that it would be worth paying for?

find out exactly what they do, because im willing to bet you could do the same thing with a boost controller and SAFC. All they probably do is flash the ECU which is good however without a good amount of mods the 2g is not that great at having power squezed out of it

I see, can anyone explain what a SAFC is? Also what is "flashing" the ECU?

A safc is a fuel management tuning tool that adjust's the amount of fuel by 'lying' to the ecu. To get the most out of it, you usually need a bigger turbo, fuel pump, injectors, and a wideband air/fuel ratio gauge to see if it's running rich or lean and you can adjust accordingly. A datalogger and exhaust gas temp gauge would also be very useful in helping you get a near perfect tune.

You can use a palm pilot as a data logger, you just need to install some software for it
