Default starter problems

i thought my old starter was broke, because it was turning but not engaging to the flywheel.. but i just put a new starter in my 95 gst and its having the came problem.. it will turn but it wont engage and turn the flywheel?? what do i do???

Did you check to see what condtion the teeth are on the flywheel? I've seen where the gearseperate from the flywheel.

sounds to me like you might need a new flywheel.. if the starter is turning but not ingaging.. sound like the teeth on the flywheel are worn down..
