I hate my car

i changed my egr valve because a mechanic told me i needed one but now my car runs like crap, idles at around 600 rpm and now my motor is knocking!!! it never ran this bad before, why would it run like this now...

I checked that thing a few times just to make sure i hooked it up right and i even took it off and reinstalled it and it still ran like crap
