Default idle help

ok so 96 gst eclipse have changed every sensor and ecu and then damn car still bounces at idle from 750 to 1500? it will throw a check engine light but the reason is different every time. im guessing vacuum leak? and what is a good Manuel to look through to find how every vacuum line should be run. also could this be a egr problem?

W/ the car running at idle spray a can of 2+2 around any vacuum lines, if you have a leak the rpms should rise.

What is the check engine light code and what parts have you replaced?

i have tried the spray trick. the idle is way to erratic to really hear the effect of the spray. and i have had the check engine code say it was the idle control then the map then a general code that there was a problem in the air fuel. it keeps changing on me. i put it on a diagnostic computer to see what all the sensor where doing and they are all working right including all the o2 sensors. as for parts replaced i have replaced the map sensor, the icv, the throttle position sensor, and the ecu.

i put a bov on it but it was doing this before that and other then that its stock. (trying to get it running right before adding more power to make hunting this problem down even more of a pain.) im pretty sure it is a vacuum issue but i have no idea where to start to look. i see 3 vacuum switches with wires going to them but no idea what they control or tell the computer "****ty manual" so ya im at a loss

it might be the FIAV. I would recommend installing a block off plate that still allows IAC operation. That will take one thing out of the equation. Most problems with idle can be traced back to the throttle body. Since you have already replaced the IAC and the TPS it sounds like more of a hard (mechanical) problem than an electical one. Install the block off plate.. if that does work replace the throttle seals, if that doesn't work replace the gaskets.

so one more quick question i know the FIAV lets air bypass the the butterfly in the TB but is that enough to cause the car to run super rich cause i forgot to mention that.
