i just purchaced a new motor for my 95 eclipse gs and we fired it up and it surges at idle it idles at 2500 and when it heats up it idles down then idles up agian to like 3000 the oil pressure is fine and the throttle cable and everythng is good. there is a light on in the dash it looks like low coolant mabe? its on the right side but i dont know what it means either just looking for some help if any one could help me i would appreciate it thanks.

 

Well when i had high idle i had a vac leak in my intake. Also when i try to reinstall the cruise cable and it was to tight. That all i can say and suggest.

 

do you have any CEL? Could be a bad throttle position sensor. or maybe your base idle is set off
