Hey guys...long time since I've been in this forums...

I sold my '98 Spyder GST'...

I bought Spyder GST because I wanted a convertible and I knew I can get the AWD GSX conversion.

But when I was getting AWD GSX conversion...few problems poped out...

One is we all know Spyder GST is like 200~300lbs heavier than regular GST...but adding AWD system of GSX is like another 200lbs more. Ends up making the car way too heavy!!!

Another is diffrents between GST and GSX is not just the FWD and AWD but a lot more. I didn't know that.

So I just gave up the convertible and sold the car...and bought myself a 97 GSX.

1st owner uses this car as a 2nd drive car and kept in garage so it only has 43k miles and everything is super clean...I love it.

Runs Strong!!!

congrats.. you'll be much happier with the gsx.. even though there are 3 pro spyder awd convertions right now.. if i can find the site i'll post it.. they did weight reductions...and now they are running fast. just watch out for the deaded Crankwalk on the 97... it sucks.. congrats on the car... any mods in the future? i have a 98 GSX, with a few minor mods...

Crank walk is something you DONT want lol its exactly what is sounds like ( Crank walk ) think about the horrors when that crank that is responsible for rotating your rods and providing them with bearings breaks loose... ouch..

oh three major issues about Eclipse's if you guys dont know is ( crankwalk , Bad ECU capaciters, and bad exhaust manifold studs ) good luck
<edited><editID>EJ20GBD</editID><editDate>37961.5963310185</editDate></edited>

Eclipse_GSX,
Hey, i was just reading your post and you mentioned a conversion from FWD to AWD. Is this possible??? I have a regular (not spyder) GST and that really caught my attention. If you could tell me where i could get a kit like that and perhaps the problems that you encountered would be awesome! Thank you!!!

Yea GSX you got my favorite.!!! I have a 98 GSX green, with the rare automatic(take off is not as good as stick but I loose next tono boost on a shift) I posted this to warn you about pipe kits for replacing your stock intercooler pipes. BUY A KIT WITH FLAIRED OR LIPPED EDGES ON THE PIPES!!!! If you buy a kit with no lipped edges, the pipes will slide out of the connectors, BAD! Buy one that is designed for high boost then you wont have to worry. Sorry about that rant but I just had a bad experince, I have to get my pipes flared at a muffler shop. GOOD LUCK AND MAKE IT FAST!!!!
