hey guys its me again with my "ol reliable" lol. anywho, i was driving today and heard a ticking from my engine so i pulled over and tried to hear it again. i revved the motor while i was parked and i heard the tick only when the revs were going back down after i let go of the gas but only very slightly. but on the road, while driving @ 35 mph on 5th gear, i floor it and i hear the tick like theres no tommorow. i did this a few times to make sure that it was my engine not something in my tire. what do you guys think it is and is it costly to repair?? thanks in advanced

 

most likly lifter tick.
but just in case be safe and check ur timing.... make sure ur valves arnt barly hitting ur pistons,.
is it loud?

 

it was loud enough so when i was passing by a couple of cars i heard the rebound of the sound. but when im on the freeway i cant hear it it unless im flooring it at around 60mph or at low rpm's like i stated earlier

 

it seems to get better when i do an oil change for me. hopefully that will work for you if you havent tried it

 

hey me again found out the problem. it was a exhaust manifold gasket... i couldnt tell the difference between the tick and the small pop that it made thanks for the reply
