I've looked and cannot find my engine fuse (that I've seen from other posts is on a positive cable somewhere in the engine compartment).

My car is totally stranded and I have kids and work and it is my only vehicle.

Year is 1995, AWD.

 

fusible link. it looks like wire. probably about 4" long between two plugs. you'll need a multimeter to check it.

 

Where precisely is it - how far away from the battery, and do you know which color wire?
