Default Looking to buy...

So I'm getting ready to buy a GSX. Its got about 90xxx miles on it. The guy tells me that there is a fuel problem and it's only running on 3 cylinders, but there are sparks on all 4. Does this sound like a money pit? What could be the cause of this? I just don't want to buy it, then have to spend more money than i paid for to fix it, you know?

Well first off how much does he want for the car, because that will determine wether its worth it or not. Now the three cylinder thing sounds retarded to me. If you have a mechanic that you trust i would ask the guy if you could have it checked over. Also it might be a good idea to do a comppression test on it. It is very easy to do and a tester is pretty cheap. That will tell you alot about the motor.

He wants $2500 for the car. If I do end up getting it I will be dropping a 6 blot in there, so I only need it to run fairly good until spring comes. And what is a good compression for the eclipse by the way?

Compression should be 178psi with a service limit of 133psi. But dont be alarmed if they are in the 150psi range. I wouldnt doubt it on an older car, as long as they are all close across the board
