Looking at buying a 96 GS...
Hey everyone, I've been looking for a 2nd, more efficient car because right now all I've got is a 94' GMC to get me 60 miles to/from school. I found this bad boy and would like some opinions- http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp;?tracktype=usedcc&searchType=21& ;pageNumber=0&numResultsPerPage=50&largeNu mResultsPerPage=0&sortorder=ascending&sort field=PRICE+ascending%2cPRICE+descending&certi fiedOnly=false&criteria=K-|E-|M-_34_|D-_310_|N-N|R-100|I-1%2c7|P-PRICE+ascending%2cPRICE+descending|Q-ascending|Z-53095&aff=national&paId=136411763&recn um=0&leadExists=true
I just started researching them a little, and so far I think I like it. But are there any known issues with this car? What should I ask the dealer when I go to look at it? Thanks for any input!

looks pretty good. But there arnt any pics of the engine bay. I would want to check that out and see if it looks pretty clean, meaning not gunked up oil everywhere. The main things that happens in those car is the headgaskets are known to be an issue . Other than that its pretty much like every other car needing general maintenance. But they are pretty good cars

i went to a place in Mt Prospect and it didnt seem like a reliable place. i dont know if this is the same place or not. but anyway i bought a 99 gs with 136k miles and i needed to change the tires and fluids right away. so check out those things too with the car. and for rust. since its illinois weather...
