you dont want to lower much more than 1.5-2" because you will get bad negative camber. I wouldnt even bother going more than 1.5"

I have brand new tokico struts and shocks and those lowered my 2nd gen gsx to 1.8 approx. I have 235/40/18 and 3 of my wheel dont rub. The front driver side does but not crazy. It hit the top plastic shield in the wheel well. The driver side seem to be slightly lower enough that i can't fit 2 finger in between the fender and the tire. But on the opposite side I can. It also threw my camber off quiet significantly. approx -2.8 degrees all around. So camber kit a must. Hope that little bit helps in your decision. Some speed bumps i can't take so listen to the engineer on his dont go lower than 1.5 inch drop.

if you only go with basic lowering springs that do 1.5" you should be fine on camber and alignment.
