Default missing wire.. security??

Tryin to do my ignition modification, I looked in the haynes manual and it says theres 6 wires on the harness going to the ignition switch. Confusingly there were only 5 wires. Wire "3" is not there, yet the regular ignition never had a problem. according to the continuity chart in the manual, the "start" position requires continuity of the wires "1,2,3,5" I know the "1" wire is power, and apparently "6" is accessory. So, in laymans terms:

accessory: 1,6
on: 1,2,4,6
start: 1,2,3,5

So wtf is "3"? I have yet to try firing it up with only 1,2 and 5. Ill update on that when I can, but can anyone find out what the wires are? Ive looked everywhere I can think of.
