motor swap for gs spyder
I have a 97 GS Spyder and I want more power and tunablility, but I don't think Im going to get that out of the stock SOHC motor rated at 140hp...plus...it's a damn auto. What motor drop right in the best and give me the best of both worlds? Or...can I really actually make power from my motor now? Because right now my best friend has a 00 Honda Civic EX and it could beat me. He's got an intake. header, exhaust, cam, valve springs, 9.3mm plug wires, and is getting a VAFC to tune it really soon. I want to beat him. What can I do?
The fast way to beat him would be to get a 120 shot of nitrus and some nitto 555r's. You can boost that motor, its the same motor as the 3g eclipse gs. 15 psi on stock internals. For a motor swap you can put in a 4g63 but its going to run about 3-4 thousand dollars. You could do boltons but bolt on import parts are kinda like masturbating, it seems like a good idea at first but you fu3king your self.
never heard it like that but that's a good way to put it lol. But yea I don't want to boost because the motor already has 130,000 miles on it. Know what I mean? Would about a rebuilt? How much would that cost...Im talking like new rings, all new gaskets, new pistons maybe. Do they make any good internal parts for the head for a GS?
