ok so i bought a 96 eclipse RS that came turbo'd, turbo has less than 1,500 thousand miles...now the guy i bought the car off of said the car didnt start cuz the headgasket was blown...now im not stupid, but the car should still start if it had a blown headgasket? right?...he also said the last time it was driving it had white smoke coming out... he told me the when he was driving the valve ontop the valve cover flew off and sprayed oil everywhere...so the only thing i can really come up with is that oil either got in the coil pack, in the spark plugs or wires and thats why the car wouldnt start...any suggestions on what i should do? or where to begin?

Well it sounds like a blown head gasket to me. So i would first replace the ignition componets like you said. Then replace the head gasket. I wouldnt start the car without replacing it because if its really bad you could cause more problems
