hello everyone. I have never owned a dsm but me and my woman are going to give it a shot.


I am looking at a 97 gst automatic. Owner says he just had a shop replace the flywheel because it and the starter were grinding. After the new flywheel install, the transmission doesn't work. ( worked prior to ne flywheel) He said it will move sometimes but not for long. He told me he just tried to move it and reverse worked but he was on ice so he put it in drive then back in reverse and then it didn't work anymore. I tried flashing the tcu codes with an analog multimeter. I had it set on 10V which is probably wrong but the needle just kept going all the way up then back down and kept repeating that. I read that there are 2 connectors on the trans that are the same and if mixed up it will not work. I am going to buy it and tow it home but I have no idea what to look for. first thing, I will pull the TCU and open it up to examine the inside. Does this sound like a familiar problem with these cars?
