New Project with 97 Spyder!!
WERD!!
Just bought a 1997 Spyder and I need to know what I should do to tweak this puppy so i get more horse power. Its an automatic sad i know but i was searching long and hard for this type of car and unfortunately im in canada and they are RARE.I ended upfinding one in T.O.So yea just want some advice on making this machine run sick. What type of filters, pumps, wiring etc. So which hi endstuff should i use to make this puppyrun the 1/4 mile lol.I'm using premium gas as well and had no idea if the past owners used premium. So im a bit cautious wit it right now reason why I have it in storage.Im new with mitsubishi had cavaliers and well they are slow as hell lol[&:]. SO any advice for me would be great.I also would like some advice on the colour. It has a beige convertible top and interior. With a black paint job. I'm getting a new top for it soon and its going to be black. I'm also going to change the interior from beige to red dont know if it will look good but id like some advice on that. I'll have before and after pictures of this car before i finish it!!
Thanks A bunch!!

RE: New Project with 97 Spyder!!
By your usuer name I'm assuming you have the 4g63. If you do there is a lot of potential w/ that engine. First before you do any mods do the 60k service, do a comperssion test and check the condition of the stock turbo.

Is this a GS or GST. That makes a big difference in what we tell you for first time mods.]
If its a GS (non turbo) check here

If its a GST (Turbo) check here

RE: New Project with 97 Spyder!!
So i just found out the previous owner had a booster or vacuum hose hooked up.. so im going to get a gauge hookup for 3. So the first one would be booster then 2 others.. is a vacuum gauge really neccessary? anyways if u have an advice that would be great again thanks.

RE: New Project with 97 Spyder!!
the boost guage measures both FYI and look at my post before, that should help you with what are basic mods at first to get...
My only concern for you now would be that if the person had a Boost guage. They may have also had a boost controller=car was beat on
