Exclamation New Owner - New Project

Hello everyone!
I am starting work on a 1993 Mitsubishi Montero (Pajero?).

Eager to work on the girl!
She needs some love, yet she is solid all throughout.

First thing to work on is the transmission.
I want to take it to a shop, as the previous owner told me it doesn't shift very good in 2-3 gear.

What else would you suggest I do?
I plan on doing the regular maintenance (filters, oils).

Do I have to service the Transfer Case?

Anybody got a link where I can get the "Service Manual"?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hello NavyShark, Welcome to the forum. I would definitely suggest that you do a service/change on all the drivetrain fluids - Transfer case, Front and Rear differential.
Transmission shifting issue diagnosis is a tough one. You can take it to the shop and have them look it over, or you can try to change the AT fluid and see if you notice any improvements. It is of course possible that the issue is more complex than just old/wrong AT fluid. You may have something worn out there. Make sure to check your brake fluid and coolant condition as well. Service them as needed. I hope your new toy brings you many happy miles and smiles
