Default new rotors

so i picked up my new rotors and if i remember correctly there is some kind of anti rust coating on them? what can i use to remove that anything from around the house? please help guys im trying to do this tomorrow and could use the advice. thanks

I'm a fan of a green-pad with some brake cleaner and scrub away at the disc where the pads are going to be touching the rotor.

i just spray some brake cleaner on there and wipe it off with a paper towel... it's not like ur brakes arent gonna burn that stuff off of there while driving

ya i had a friend help me who is a mechanic and he said ya you dont really need to worry about it unless there is a ton of gunk on them. mine werent bad so i just threw em on and they work great. thank you guys for the responses. everything went awesome except those damn bolts were on so tight i f'ed up my knuckles pretty bad. but o well thanks again happy monday

i never even bother cleaning them off, the pads will wear it off pretty quickly

i didnt even knew that... i just wish that sh*t stayed on the edges which actually do rust......
