Hello! I received an OBD2 Bluetooth scanner yesterday, but I cannot seem to make it work. I use Torque for Android and an OBD software for mac. I get the message that it cannot communicate with my ECU, but the adapter itself works when I connect it to our second car. I get readings from the other vehicle, but not my Eclipse GS ´97. Does it not use OBD2? I´m also suspecting that the connector or something on the car itself is faulty, because when I wiggle the adapter slightly, it´ll disconnect. Where can I start to troubleshoot in order to find out what´s wrong? First of all, is the Eclipse compatible with OBD2? Second of all, where do I begin to look for faults on the Eclipse? Back again here, I did some readings with my voltmeter and found that the K line, pin 7, has a resistance of about 1.3Ohm, which apparently is bad. I saw on a Youtube video that I should find out if some of my systems are grounding a wire. He called them "control units" and that an aftermarket stereo system could cause this, but what exactly do I need to do to check it? I have an aftermarket stereo system, but what cable or plug is it that I need to check? What cable is it grounding? Hope someone can shed some light on this... Thanks!
