Default oil light?

alright i have a 97 gst spyder and when ive been driving around for awhile and sitting still at a stop light the oil light flickers on and off. Ive obviously checked the oil and its right at the full mark and the pressures good. Any ideas?

that is a symptom of crank walking...id be perpaired also remove teh spark plug cover and see if you have oil on your valve cover you may have it leaking up thre the spark plugs, just like the engineers TSi did and a head rebuild cured the problem

yea true it might just be that you need new seals and valve cover gasket....but if that doesnt fix it then i say get rid of that thing now!!

well that dosent make sense cause first theres only 82,000 miles on the car and second i just had the head rebuilt like 3 months ago by a machine shop that specializes in DSM. There is always a chance of it beginning to crankwalk but im only putting out about 240hp at the crank and thats at the most. Is there a chance it could be something minor like a bad sensor?

theirs a sensor in your block thats in the path of the oil routing from the pump, thye do go bad some time, try replacing that before you sell the car. an 18 dollar part could save you alot of hassel.

not likley, do you think that every time you sit at a light you lose 2 quarts of oil for a few seconds. I bet a dollar its the sensor.
