the 4G64 in the 3G won't make that much power off of 8.5psi. hell, the v6 just does make that much power at 8psi. i think tearstone dynoed his GT at 270whp at 8psi.

 

a 1.6 turboed V-tech Civic should run with a stock gst. They weight 1000 lbs less. Weight really is a big factor when it comes to racing. I had a guy that thought he was bad with 1.6 vtech with a 75 shoot of nos. He was waxing all the honda around here but i put 5 cars on him in my gst and he jumped me out of the hole a car length. Honda guys think V-tech means something. V-tech helps about as much as changing from air box to open k&n. Vtech really isn't crap. The only civic that ran close around here was a gutted civic with a DOHC VTECH gsr motor in it. He claimed when vtech kicked in it would break loose and start spinning. well i bet him too it was a close race but ad another victory for the dsms. VTECH is maybe 10 Hp WOW!!!!

so which is it? first you say that a simple homemade turbo kit can make a civic outrun an eclipse. then you say that if that same amount of money is put into the eclipse, then it will beat the civic. so what....are you comparing a highly modded civic against a stock eclipse? is that what you are doing? well ****, everybody knows that a turboed civic will beat a stock GST.

 

anything with a basic turbo kit can usually beat a stock DSM. the point is a car that comes with some sort of FI from the factory can make power faster and easier than one that isnot FI, thats isnt even bringing up the fact that almost all N\A cars that go FI will need a motor build up to run higher than 9 PSI in most cases. I have beat a single cam civic and a DOHC civic with turbos when I was bone stock. bone stock with a hard launch my car runs 14.00 so those civics I raced without a launch must run slower than a 14.2 at the very least. Both civics were running 7-9 PSI and both were slow as ****..... Hell I raced a SR20DET swapped 200sx that was running open exhaust and I would have won if I was in a bone stock GST.

 

Maybe the novelty of having a 'vert wore off for you but you're talkin to a guy that runs around almost year round with his windows down (Heater on full in the winter of course and windows up when it's raining unfortunately). I mean c'mon.... I just LOVE the feeling of the wind in my hair...

 

no dude you dont understand ...that is me ask all of my friends ill have the windows down in snow it doesnt matter.. I had the spyder and only had the top up when I was raining that is it. And I was honestly obsessed with converts. but after a while of owning one it wore out and I wanted one so bad for like 5-6 years i had my license. Trust me I bet I am exactly like you

 

LOL Well I've wanted one since I sat behind the wheel of a '00 cavalier convertable. Perhaps I'll just have to own one for a bit before the novelty wears off for me too but it's not going to stop me from wanting one for now LOL.

 

hahahaha that is how I was , no one could talk me out of it LOL then I bought it and had it 6 months and traded it in. I sat behind the wheel of a sunfire which is essencailly a cavi and I had to have one. But like I said it did wear off I am glad I had teh chance to own it but at the same time it was a financail mistake and I would have a large chunk of the EVO paid off had I never bought it to begin with

 

Well I'm not going to spend an incredible amount on it that's for sure. I figure being that I live here at the beach a 'vert will get mad chicks too I know you say you get more looks now but c'mon it's the best of both worlds lol.

 

no the chicks lovvved the spyder I live near clearwater beach in florida so trust me I know what the verts can do lol. BUUTT I get it even more with the EVO belive it or not. I mean I get chicks all the time blowing me a kiss randomly at red lights and some even more crazy things than that LMAO. The spyder was a beach car all the way I got a great deal on mine but I still feel now that it waisted money because I had it for a short time. I bought it for $15900 it was an 02 with 30K on it I had it 6 months and traded it in with 45K on it and got $12500 for it, they went and sold it for $17500 so I did good in the begining but what ever I am happy with the EVO since my payments are only $20 more per month it is money well spent.

The problem I have with the beach is if you actually go out on the sand it takes 30 years to clean the sand out of the car, and I am **** about a clean car inside and out.
