RE: ok seriously......
Would you rather pick a kia over a dsm???, im not gonna vouch for the 420a but im gonna say that, if people with money and the desire to, have made awesome things on cars, let them spend their money on it, as long as they know what they are doing, know about cars, and know about the problems implied with it

Oh please dusty... if we are going to exaggerate well then http://youtube.com/watch?v=NF_G4tB18Ws
And THAT is a fact, it does exist
Imagine the price on that.... and it was some loco who came up with the idea...

RE: ok seriously......
I dont recommend turboing the 420a.. But it can and has been done... You can have problems with any car that you put a lot of money and power into.. But he asked if there was anything he could do.. And yes there is something you "can" do if you wanted to.. Its not something I would do, but if someone wants to do it, im all for helping them out..

RE: ok seriously......
Im not disputing that... i said that too in my 1st post. What i was saying was that its not as easy and as strait forward as you made it out to be. Thats all.... not to mention the kit wont deliver a whole crap load of power any way. You will be at the same hp a stock GST would hahaha.

Amen Seb. Dusty and Kaede take this somewhere else, we are actuall talking about cars here.
Here are the facts man. Here is what you will need to JUST turbo the car
manifold
turbo
o2 housing
downpipe
ic plumbing
fmic
bov
that is all you need which you can get for about 1500-200 bucks... to run safer you should get
wideband
boost gauge
mbc
tuning device
this will let you safely tune the car so you aren't leaning it out and putting holes in ur block and internals. this will get you to about 8-9psi. after that you'll need
pistons
rods
rod bearings
main bearings
head gasket while ur at it
a bottom end rebuild w/ decent named parts will run you between 1000-1300 ( my total rebuild kit was about 1400 )
to suport over 10psi you'll then need
injectors
fuel pump
fpr
and another tune
after you rebuild the bottom end you are good up to about 18psi but you willl need a clutch to hodl the power. after you reach 18psi (about 260-280whp) you'll need a new valvetrain
valves
springs
retainers
rockers
lifters
and cams won't hurt
you'll be able to push about 22-23psi (depending on the compression you went w/ in the bottom end) then you will need to find a tranni to hold more power
for a new race trani (if you can find one) you're lookin around 3-4 grand.
lets not forget that the turbo and injectors you started out with will not be good up to this kind of power so you'll need to upgrade those accordingly.
lets just put it this way. the FASTEST 420a in the world is running 11's. this is over 30k invested into the car and it's completely gutted. if you put 30k into a gst or gsx you are looking at the 9's.
in the end, it's just not worth it unles you are just looking for a little bit of power on stock engine.
