Default P0352..help please

I have a 97 Eclipse 2.0 non turbo. It gives me a P0352. Engine cranks, but won't turn on. I'm stuck on this one. I can't get any spark from the ignition coil pack.

Here is what I checked:
-timing belt + timing
-wires going to the coil pack
-has a new crank sensor as well

Any advice will help a lot.

So it's a spark problem. Can't remember the exact path on the non turbo but I think it's the same basically as the turbo. Which would be the spark signal originates at the Ecu when the Ecu sees the crank sensor signal, goes to an mfi relay, then to an igniter or ptu, then to the coil and down the wire to the plug. So your problem should lie in one of those things

Did you check both coils for spark? If just one coil is firing then Probably the other coil is bad or the ptu is bad. If neither coil is firing then its probably Ecu or crank sensor though I rarely see issues with 2nd gen Ecu's and you said the coil was new.

The timing belt checks off fine. The coil pack itself isn't firing at all. No spark from all four of the spark plugs. I tried a new coil pack and still got the same results. I'm thinking that it has to be the cam sensor. I'll see what's up and repost.

I still say ptu or mfi. I am a mitsu tech and I've seen ten times the amount of bad ptu's and mfi relays to every bad crank/cam sensor. Check for power at the ignition coil. Should be a black wire with white stripe. It be best if you had another ptu and mfi from
Another car to swap. Are the injectors firing? You never said if you have fuel
Or not.

Sorry for the late response. The ignition coils are getting power so that is checking out. Um this may sound dumb, but how would I know if they are firing or getting fuel? I was in a similar situation with my 02 Lancer, crank and spark but wouldn't get going. I could smell the fuel so that's how I could tell on the Lancer (ended up being timing belt).

Another question...where would I be able to find the MFI relay?

If there is power to the coils pull a plug wire out and put a spark plug in the wire. Ground out the bottom of the plug (the threaded part) by touching it to a good clean metal ground on the engine. Lay it there or clamp it to the metal ground to get good contact then watch the tip for spark when you crank the car over. For injectors just crank the car over for a good 10 seconds and then pull out a spark plug. If the injectors are firing you will smell gas down in the cylinder and the tip of the spark plug will be wet with gas. Mfi relay is mounted on the left side of the passenger area. On the other side of the radio kind of.

Yeah no spark to the plugs. I did that trick and nothing. Even when I swtiched in a new coil pakck nothing. Thankfully they took it back =D no gas smell...what is a trip is that the relays are under th e hood by the battery.
