FatalJRA is right on, Engine swap would be pretty cheap, and probably the best route you can go. You *can* use any 1g 4g63 engine you want, and they can be had for fairly cheap nowadays. Best thing to do is go to a junkyard and find a wrecked eclipse turbo. OR you could drop in a galant 2.4liter engine, it's almost the same. They're way cheaper and give pretty decent power and an excellent torque band. Or just to be different, learn to weld and drop the 1.8liter in the back and make a mid-engine sprinter!!! Just to be different....

Yeah, don't listen to me, i just go about ranting....But the 4g64 swap is a very viable option.
