im looking into buying a 1998 eclipse gst in excellent condition. there isnt a scrathc or even a ding ont he car. stock crome wheels with only and intake on the car. the downfall. 140,000 miles. is it worth buying? will it last awhile if i drive it normally?

Transmission? Has the 120k maintanance been done (timing belt, water pump, tensioner etc...), When was the clutch changed?

Last but not least... how many $$$$'s we talkin here?

yea i ahve 130,000 mi on mine b4 i changed my headgasket n other stuff and when the head was pulled everything lookede perfect. you could still c the honing that was dont on it from the factory. i only know it was done from the factory because i know where the car came from and have all the recipets from work that was done on it. so i say if its the right price and well maintained go for it. i wouldnt pay anything over 4k for it thought imo

he was 5500 for it. and yeah the regular maitence was all done. it looks liek a brand new timing belt. it drives perfect. clutch grabes tight. turbo spools up strong. completley garage kept. brand new paint. brand new headlights. has a greddy evo 2 exhaust i think. has top of the line parts. new tired. brand new brakes. not a stain in the interior. lol. everything works. ac and all.

Try to talk him down a bit but the price isnt that bad to begin with, does it still have the original engine?

If the interior looks good, and the exterior looks good, I would pay that much.

The way to tell the clutch life is by paying attention to how close to the top it grabs.

yeah, the motor is all orginal and it is very clean also. yeah, i cnat believe it is in that good of condition. brand new carpet on the interior too.

yea for a lower mileage gst i'd pay that much, but that's up pretty high, i'd try to talk him down maybe a grand

one more question. how much horsepower do you think a 98 gst. with a greddy evo exhaust, an injen intake and 15psi boost and a turbo timer is pushing. like 240 245?
