Default Porting out Evo III

OK Guys I just gont done doing all the "rough" porting, i am going to clean it up a bit tomorrow, I got the 32mm wastegate out to install the 34. I ported the incoming exhaust out a bunch and just smootherd out the turbine hole, and the wastegate, I also opened up the wastegate hole.

I was also wondering on the incoming exhaust part, does the "rim" actually do anything or should I make it flush with the rest?

OK so the rim doesn't actaully do anything? Nothing sets on it or anything?

OK, I understand that a ring gasket sits there? DOes that help align it or something?

It just seems like it would be better to keep the step if the ring gasket aligns it.

isnt it usually a good idea to replace gaskets after you've unbolted whatever it seals? could always get a new one and just test fit it
