hi this is think my second post and i have a wierd imaginary idea. i just want to see if its possible. Is it possible to mod your 2g eclipse in a way where it has two mufflers instead of one. (like one on each side right/left). it would be nice [8D]. i know anything is possible with alot of money but is it possible enough where almost anyone with sare change can do it?

 

Are you serious dude.It is not that hard to put (duel exhaust) on your car,and not that expensive either.

 

just put a y pipe after the resonator or right before it goes around the tank. simple fix just need a welder if you wanna DIY it oh and a pipe bender or you can take it to a muffler shop and they do bends for 1 buck a bend. "here they do"

I know its about looks but why. Do people realy say "hey wow did you see that car it had two mufflers!"
Buy a nice looking and nice sounding cat back exhasut and keep one muffler. IMO

 

well to answer some of your question i lalways imagined like nice cars with a balance in the exterior mods. a balancein mufflers where one side ther is one and anther ther is another one. well if ppl who know what eclipse are they will realize that the car isnt suppose to have 2 mufflers. and i only expect ppl to say that with that small amount of knowledge. it like "hey did you see that Lamborgini" in about 1 min they forget what they saw. i like the 2 muffler idea b/c its personal preference, its not what ppl think it what you feel. wow i bought a y pipe (real cheap =) ) specifically for eclipse and galants but it looks confusing but i will figure out a way somehow to make my vision come true =).

 

ive often wondered about your original question myself...but to add to it...would the y-pipe affect the backpressure...and if so, is it enough to make a difference?
